Last December, The Weeknd and Spanish singer Rosalía teamed up for a remix of “Blinding Lights.” Finally, in April, Ariana Grande joined him on a remix of “Save Your Tears.” He later offered two remixes of “In Your Eyes”: one featuring Doja Cat and one with Kenny G. In May 2020 he remixed “Blinding Lights” with Chromatics it was one of five remixes on his After Hours (Remixes) EP. The Weeknd has also shared numerous remixes of his After Hours songs. In addition to the singles “Heartless,” “Blinding Lights,” “In Your Eyes,” and “Save Your Tears,” The Weeknd also shared the title track as a promo single, performed the ballad “Scared To Live” on SNL, and shared music videos for “Until I Bleed Out,” “Snowchild,” and “Too Late.” Last year, The Weeknd released his acclaimed album, After Hours. With another six months before the album drops, it’s likely the group will release at least one or two more singles in the meantime. “Moth To A Flame” is the third single so far. First was “It Gets Better” in July, quickly followed by “Lifetime” featuring Ty Dolla Sign and 070 Shake.

The music video, directed by Alexander Wessely, is set in a dark, probably dystopian realm. “Moth To A Flame” is a kinetic and instant a song and an excellent new single for both Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd. But does this new man know that she still calls up her ex? That she maybe hasn’t moved on yet? It’s a tricky situation, but The Weeknd is ready to remove himself from the situation, encouraging the woman to stay with her new partner. He describes an ex-lover who’s now with someone better, someone who could be The One. The Weeknd croons sweetly over the top, but his lyrics aren’t quite as innocent. “Moth To A Flame” is an EDM track built around chiming, funky guitar and sliding synths. Following their singles “It Gets Better” and “Lifetime,” the group now has a third single: “Moth To A Flame” featuring The Weeknd.
